Frequently Asked Question
While not exhaustive, the following are questions we field from non-members on a regular basis:
Is the MCYC facility available for public use, either short or long term?
No. The MCYC is a privately owned and operated facility that is only available for use by owner members.
What if I am visiting friends on Mudge Island, can I tie up at the Docks?
Maybe. There are limited provisions that permit owner members to allow guests to tie up for short durations. This use is covered by a “Guest Use Policy” which is found in the “Members Area” of this site.
Are there exceptions to this regulation?
Generally no, however the MCYC facilities are used as an access point for emergency services on Mudge Island.
I am not a member, can I take a water taxi to Mudge Island and be dropped off at the Docks?
No. Again, this is a private facility reserved for use by owner members.
How can I become a member?
Owing to the size limitations of the facilities, there is a fixed number of memberships. Occasionally members opt to sell their memberships. While the sale/purchase transaction is handled by the parties, the MCYC takes a very hands on approach with respect to the transfer of ownership. We require strict acknowledgement and adherence to governing Rules, Bylaws and Dock Use Regulations before the transfer process is adopted.
How can I find out more information about the MCYC?
Simply send us a note in the contact us section, and we will respond to your questions as promptly as possible.
